Five Must Haves for Fall 2016

Hello Beautyowls!

I don’t know how it looks like in your regions but Fall is greeting us here in Zürich with rain and a temperature drop of 10 degrees. However, together with Autumn comes also the need to change ones mind-set, to de-clutter the closet and to discover some new Fall favourites.

After reading countless blogs, magazines and following the amazing fashion shows, here is my final verdict of the 5 must have items  for this Fall, which will allow a smooth transition into winter, in the most stylish and fun way.

Item Nr.1 Comfy Feet, Happy Feet!

No I am not referring to the animated movie with the penguins, (which was awesome by the way) in this case I am referring to the beautifully comfortable Adidas Originals Superstar 80s the perfect sneaker, combining comfort and elegance. Retailing for 169.-CHF from Stylebob.  Stylish and with  KA-POW!…Need I say more!

Item Nr.2 Hydration across the nation!

Now that the seasons are changing, our skin is in need of extra moisture. If you are having super sensitise and dry lips like me, I have just the right product for you. Drunk Elephant Lippie stick has been put to the test and passed. To be found at Sephora or Drunk Elephant for 22$. So moisturise your lips and kiss away through rain and cold winds.

Item Nr.3 Oversize me, yes please!

Keep warm and comfy with the oversized anoraks and if you don’t want anybody to see you, choose one with a camouflage pattern. I found mine at Zara for 79.90- CHF. So snuggly warm and big, that can face any weather.

Item Nr. 4 Signal Red!

Make a statement with a bold lip and signal confidence and savvy. My beauty pick for this Autumn the 58 Rouge Vie Chanel Lipstick from the LE ROUGE COLLECTION N°1 in collaboration with Lucia Pica. Loooove!

 

Item Nr. 5 Give me some Wang!

You pay a monthly or yearly fee whichever one you choose, and each month you receive a nice box of goodies, with 4-5 full-size products. You definitely cannot go wrong subscribing to these! Most of them offer products that are newly launched or haven’t been noticed as much as other products. I can tell you that ALL of the products they send to you are excellent!! 1.  Ipsy – Ipsy is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. Each month you get full-size or deluxe-sized products, plus a cute makeup bag.
2. Birchbox– Every month, Birchbox lets subscribers pick between a curated box (all samples revealed) or a single sample choice and be surprised by the rest of the items.
3. Boxycharm – BoxyCharm is a full-size beauty and makeup subscription box. They always provide a great value compared the cost of the box.
4. Target Beauty Box – Varies in cost (Usually $7) The only thing bad about the Target Beauty Box is that it isn’t an official subscription yet! Target releases new beauty boxes about every other month, and they sell out within hours because they are that good! The value is always great, they come with Target coupons, and they have a good mix of samples and full-size items.
5.  Allure Beauty Box – $15 a month. They typically feature 5-6 samples with high-end brands like Benefit and Alterna. Use this link to save $5 off your first month.

Oh Yes! It’s My Top 5 Makeup Brush Sets!

Whether you need them to smoke out that smoky eye, or to highlight those cheek bones, every makeup obsessed girl needs a good ol’ set of good quality in their makeup arsenal. At the end it’ll all be worth it.

With having the right set for yourself the possibilities of different looks you can create are endless! With that being said, here’s a list of my top 5 brush sets (no particular order), and why. What are your mush have brushes and tools to create your looks? Brush Brush, Away!…

 

#5. Real Techniques Starter Brush Kit:

This brush set will run you about eighteen bucks on the Ulta website, but you can definitely find them on other websites as well. Not only do the fibers stay in tact and not shed, but these brushes are also very easy to wash, and the makeup does not stay caked up between the brushes fibers. The set includes a brush for base shadow, a brush for creasing, a pixel pointed eyeliner brush, an accent brush and finally a brow defining brush. This set includes every brush you would need to create the perfect look!

#4. Morphe Brush Set:

This brand of brushes is widely used all over the world by both self taught, and professional MUA’s (Makeup Artists). Morphe brushes are well known for their strong long lasting fibers, and the beautiful and one  of a kind strokes that they are able to create. Although, a bit on the pricey side ($50.00), every penny is well spent with this brush set! I can assure you long lasting high quality rushes that can last you a lifetime of beautiful looks!

 

 

 

 

 

#3. Sigma Beauty Brushes:

Sigma Beauty Essentials Brush Kit conveniently comes with 12 different types of brushes which each have a unique function, and all come together to help you create the perfect look. This set is a bit pricey, but most definitely well worth the money. This specific Sigma Beauty Essential Brush set costs $160.00.

 

#2. Limited-Edition Tarteist™ @NicolConcilio Brush Set:

There aren’t many words besides flawless to describe this beautiful set of brushes. Beauty sensation Nicol Concilio has teamed up with Tarte Cosmetics to create one of the most trending sets of brushes out there right now. These brushes are coated in a beautiful gold color and includes a smudge brush, a contouring eyeshadow brush, an eye blending brush, a highlighting fan brush, a powder brush and finally, an airbrush airbuki buffing brush. These retail for $39.00.

 

#1.  E.L.F. Studio Cosmetics 11 Piece Brush Set

E.L.F. Cosmetics Brush set is a very good brush set that provides a sleek look in the nick of time. These brushes have little to no shred and that’s after abut two to three months of use. They come with a nice pouch that you can use to take all of your makeup essentials with you on the go. This brush set is definitely a mush have brush set.

 

 

 

 

Mermaids Forever?

Hey Beauties! Happy Wednesday!

How is your day going? My day is going pretty well. I’m currently sitting at the library, typing this post. Unfortunately, don’t have my own computer yet, so I come here as often as I can to keep in contact with my beautiful readers 🙂

Anyways, today I’m going to be talking about a palette that’s very dear to my heart… it’s the Makeup Revolution London Mermaid’s Forever Palette!! When I tell you, this palette is amazing! its AMAZING!!! It comes with 32, (Yes, 32!) beautifully pigmented eye shadow pots, which range from matte colors, to metals. I kind of did some research on this palette (I know, I’m kind of a weirdo, anyone else do this?) and I found out that the colors used in this palette are based around the under water world. Personally, I think that’s very creative.

I love that the colors have a wider range than the average palette. The colors range from blues, to pinks, to teals, to purples, and the best part is that it even has a little section where the tones are earthy browns both metallics and matte, and neutrals for your everyday “No makeup makeup” look. This palette allows you to be very versatile.

So what I did today, was try to create a look for you guys so that you can kind of get an idea of the many ways that this palette could be used. I uploaded some swatches of the colors for you guys so that you can see the quality and pigments as well. For my lip today I used Colourpop’s Liquid Matte Lipstick in the color “Notion” which I swatched for you guys in my previous post. (I’ll upload it here as well, for your convenience). I find that Makeup Revolution’s eye shadow formula is pretty good quality, for the price, and I definitely want to check out some more of their makeup. Their website has lots of beautiful palettes like this one. I would recommend this makeup to a friend!

My Official Carli Bybel Palette Review

 

OK you guys, so I FINALLY got my hands on the much anticipated and talked about Carli Bybel Palette from BH Cosmetics, and let me tell you… for the very affordable price of just $14.50, you cannot go wrong with this palette. Not only does it come with 10 beautiful nude to berry pigmented eye shadows, but it also includes 4 of the most beautifully pigmented highlighter powders that I’ve seen in a very long time. The colors all have their own shimmers and undertones and if you mix them well enough you can create a TON of looks with just these 10 shades, and 4 highlights.

The highlighters can also be used as shadows and vice versa. All of the colors last all day and have a smooth buttery feel when applied. This is one of the main reasons that I personally love this palette so much! how cool is that!? you can use the highlights as shadows and the shadows as highlights. The Carli Bybel Palette is one palette that you can never go wrong with nor can you live without. I would most definitely recommend this palette to any woman who loves good quality affordable makeup.
